Forsythe Opens Downtown Campaign Office

Laconia, NH- On Wednesday evening, the Jim Forsythe for State Senate campaign opened their office at 23 Canal Street in downtown Laconia. In front of a very enthusiastic crowd of around 40, Senate Minority leader Peter Bragdon spoke about the importance of winning Senate District 4 in order to regain a Republican majority that would lower spending and taxes.

Senator Jeb Bradley gave his formal endorsement to Jim, saying that “I’ve endorsed Jim Forsythe because I’ve worked with him on campaigns in the past, nobody will work harder to represent District 4 in Concord … and because we know he’ll be on the right side of all the issues. ” Jim also picked up the endorsements of State Representatives Laurie Boyce (Belknap District 5) and Carol Vita (Strafford District 3). Rep. Boyce described Jim as a “person of action and a leader in his community” whose activism helped repeal the LLC tax, while Rep. Vita referred to Jim as an “honest, conservative and articulate individual whom I know will bring fiscal responsibility to the legislature”.

Wednesday evening’s event also marked Forsythe and State Senate Candidate Andy Sanborn formally endorsing each other. Sanborn is running for State Senate in District 7 after being only narrowly defeated in 2008, during a tough electoral year for Republicans. Sanborn said that “Jim is the steady hand in the future of New Hampshire through his commitment to find reasonable, common sense solutions to our State’s problems.”  Additional endorsements have been posted online at www.jimforsythe.com/endorsements.

In addition to these significant endorsements, Forsythe also addressed the crowd in order to give them an idea of how the campaign was going. Jim highlighted that the campaign team has knocked on over 1,100 doors, raised over $46,000, and begun an aggressive mailing program to get the word out to voters. Jim also announced the hiring of his full-time campaign manager, Zach Azem. Azem is a Laconia native who just graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Hampshire and is an active member of the UNH College Republicans.

In his talk, Jim also highlighted that the office will be a central location for volunteers to make calls, meet for door-to-door literature drops, and pickup signs.  It is open for any Republican candidate from State Representative to U.S. Senate to use – coordinated through Jim’s new campaign manager, Zach Azem (zach@jimforsythe.com).  Representatives from the campaigns of Jim Bender, Kelly Ayotte, Frank Guinta, and Sean Mahoney, attended the office opening.  The campaign expects the office to serve as an excellent venue in the heart of the Lakes Region to spread the message of limited government, lower taxes, and lower spending.
