Forsythe Signs Americans for Prosperity Pledge

Concord, NH – Republican State Senate District 4 candidate Jim Forsythe today signed the Americans for Prosperity Pledge to cut taxes and fees (and oppose a sales and/or income tax), cut spending, cut the size of government, and uphold both the N.H. and U.S. Constitutions.

“This was an easy pledge to sign, since it is a desire to uphold the value of limited government that motivated me to run.  Business taxes in N.H. have increased dramatically, especially with the LLC tax.  Unless we restore the N.H. Advantage of lower taxes, we are likely to see unemployment continue to rise.  Additionally, property tax payers need relief – the state must stop passing un-Constitutional unfunded mandates and downshifting costs to the local property taxpayer.” said Forsythe.

Forsythe continued, “There are many things the legislature can do to reduce spending while maintaining vital services.  We should pass school choice reforms that have been proven in many other states to improve quality while reducing costs.    The state should be buying our power competitively off the New England power pool for a potential 20% savings.  Public employees should be switched to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) as has become increasingly popular in the private sector.  All these reforms use the competitive nature of the free market to reduce costs while potentially improving the quality of service.  If elected to the State Senate, I pledge to reduce spending and taxes in New Hampshire, which will return our state to the prosperity it deserves.”
