Jeff Chidester’s Endorsement

There was a time in New Hampshire in which every representative we sent to Concord was expected to be a leader.  Leaders who were independent thinkers concerned about their neighbors, not their position within a party apparatus.

Sadly, too many of our representatives have long abandoned their commitment to their community, and have forgotten that they were suppose to be their neighbors eyes, ears, and voice in Concord. Over the past few years we have seen the dismantling of the “New Hampshire Advantage,“  as some of  our legislators appeared to be either deaf, dumb or blind (or all three).

I am glad to say that Jim Forsythe will not be one of those representatives.  Time and again I have seen Jim use his keen intellect and calm demeanor to either advocate or oppose those issues we know would have a negative effect on the families of New Hampshire.

Jim has been a strong voice for parents and children who are concerned about the state of education in NH.  As an educator, Jim understands not only where government can help when it comes to education, but also where government’s involvement does more harm than good.

As an entrepreneur, Jim recognizes those policies that will have an adverse effect on the number one provider of jobs in New Hampshire, the small business owner. Jim led the fight against the LLC tax, and through his tireless efforts, he showed many of our sitting legislators the devastating consequence the LLC tax would have on New Hampshire’s economy.

Jim is a strong, liberty-minded individual, who knows that the best government is a government closest to the people. Jim will work with the communities in his district to ensure that Concord is not enacting policies that would impede strong local governance.  Whether it is the school board in Alton, the town council in Laconia, or the police chief in Barnstead, Jim understands that all of the towns in District 4 will either prosper or suffer based on the decisions made in Concord.

The thing that impresses me the most about Jim is that he has maintained a humble persona in the mist of many great accomplishments.  US Air Force Pilot, Professor at the US Air Force Academy, speaks Russian, Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering; pretty much the smartest guy in the room.  But if you were to ask him to tell you about himself, Jim would tell you that his greatest joy and accomplishment in his life was his family.  Jim would sooner tell you about being a Cub Master, than being a decorated Air Force pilot who flew missions in support of our countries efforts in Bosnia, Somalia, and Iraq.

I am lucky to call Jim a friend, and I know the people of District 4 will be fortunate to call Jim “Senator.”  Honest, principled, born leader.  Jim embodies all of these traits; traits that are desperately needed in Concord.  I am not only proud to give Jim my support, but to publicly endorse him for NH State Senator – District 4.
